Grid Connected: A Little Interest Check
Hey everybody. Zoki here with an odd idea, hoping she doesn't get in over her head again. But I think I can make this work if it's kept light and fun. We're all mature adults, right?
So the basic premise of this sandbox/psl/shenanigan-ing is that the world's in danger, again. And clearly the solution to any problem in this world is to throw brightly-colored heroes with giant mecha at it, regardless of their experience level in combat, weapon use, or piloting.
Basically, we're recruiting people of any age and species with any level of attitude. Some of these choices may or may not be the greatest, but we all have to learn to work together to survive.
Setting/Premise:
The story takes place in Angel Grove, California, in 2023. Veteran Power Ranger and tech mogul Billy Cranston is on a quest to revive his old friend and mentor Zordon, but there's one problem: his attempt to gather the grid's energy sucked in a group of wayward beings from other times and other worlds instead.
And then there's a second problem: his device created an opposite reaction on the side of evil, and energy on that side of the struggle is rising too. Lord Zedd has been reborn, and he's looking for recruits on his side of the coming war....
Applicable characters:
Any, as long as you think they're suitable for the setting! Canon PR characters from other times/universes or aged up to 2023, Sentai, any other canon, OCs, alternate universes...go wild.
Form for hero-aligned:
Form for villain-aligned:
Feel free to use this post as a pre-plotting CR meme of sorts! Get the ball rolling with ideas, whatever you want to do.

Astronema, Power Rangers in Space
Age: 26ish
Personality blurb: She's the grey from a very black and white canon (as of season 5). She will go out of her way to make people distrust her; if you trust her anyway, she's loyal as hell. If you don't, she will cheerfully betray you at a moment's notice. Even Astronema doesn't always know what she's about to do, no doubt in part from a life-time of layers and layers of brainwashing.
Ranger? Complicated! She was born to be the yellow ranger of KO-35, gets kidnapped and tinkered with (turning her power purple, the opposite of yellow), and later becomes the pink ranger in season 6. I sort of figure her usual black vinyl getup is the corrupted yellow morph. So she's definitely connected to the grid.
Uniform Color: If she did the ranger thing and morphed for realsies now it would be purple. And probably really fucked up from all the corruption.
Motif/Zord design: If we get giant robots can she just have her ship? It's massive, but it can conveniently hide in a pocket dimension, which in itself is thematic as hell for her. The only problem is going to be making her leave the damn thing. On the plus side, fully operational space ship that can carry a huge city worth of people if needed. It even has a massive hangar.
And hey, if she decides to team up with the good guys, maybe she can use it to zap some rangers into monster size for a fight lmao. Big robot down for the count? Just punch the thing, it's fine. If it's good enough for monsters, it's good enough for you lot.
Other powers: As a native human of KO-35, Astronema has telekinesis. She is also a sorceress, using her corrupted yellow ranger 'channels' and a lifetime of training and molding by the forces of evil. She can teleport at-will, shoot purple lightning, summon/dismiss things (and minions/monsters in her roster), change her appearance (hair color, clothing, etc, not into whole other people), basically whatever's convenient at the time. We've even seen her brainwash people (well, turtles) temporarily.
Non-powered skills: We see her adept with staff, boomerang, sword, and general kicking of a lot of ass while wearing really tall heels. Ecliptor was a pretty terrifying warrior and taught her ruthlessly. She also appears to have superhuman strength, able to snap free of restraints and carry her older brother later in the comics even as 'Karone'. She's also a schemer, and used her brains as much as anything to conquer the universe, mostly by manipulating her enemies into doing some of the work for her.
